What Do Microsoft, GM, and HP Have In Common?
They were all founded during US recessions. What does that mean for you? Well, it suggests that even if the economy is headed into recession, there will be new opportunities if you plan and keep your eyes open.
But sometimes we fail to see opportunities because we don’t take time to reflect on all of the skills and experiences that have brought us to where we are today.
I suggest taking some time this weekend to take stock of all the things in your life that you would brag about if you weren’t so modest.

Find a notebook, you can buy something special, or grab one at Target. I usually snag one that my kids have decided is no longer in vogue. Then grab a pen. Now, I am particular about my pens, I love the fine point markers by Emmott.

Be sure to update your list regularly. Every time you receive a compliment, don’t brush it off with a shy “Oh it was nothing,” write it down. Keep expanding your list.
Then on a clean page, put each accomplishment or skill in an oval and start drawing lines connecting them.
